Toshiba and Numana have introduced a strategic partnership to boost the Kirq quantum communication testbed in Quebec. This collaboration will enhance the testbed’s real-world telecom-grade infrastructure, rising its capability and distance capabilities. Leveraging Toshiba’s Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) know-how, the initiative goals to safe communications throughout Quebec’s key cities.

The Kirq testbed, at present operational in Sherbrooke, will broaden with extra hubs in Montreal by summer season 2024 and Quebec Metropolis by early 2025.
