The 2024 AAAS Assembly will happen February fifteenth – seventeenth in Denver, Colorado. This convention, held yearly since AAAS was established in 1848, is devoted to advancing science and know-how throughout all disciplines and helps bridge the hole between researchers and the general public by way of media protection of cutting-edge analysis.
This 12 months, the Computing Neighborhood Consortium will sponsor three scientific classes on numerous matters in computing:
- Generative AI in Science: Promises and Pitfalls
- Moderator: Matthew Turk (Toyota Technological Institute at Chicago and CCC Council member)
- Panelists: Rebecca Willett (College of Chicago), Markus Buehler (Massachusetts Institute of Know-how), and Duncan Watson-Parris (College of California San Diego)
- Large Language Models: Helpful Assistants, Romantic Partners, or Con Artists?
- Moderator: Maria Gini (College of Minnesota and former CCC Council member)
- Panelists: Ece Kamar (Microsoft Analysis), Jonathan Could (College of Southern California), and Hal Daume III (College of Maryland)
- How Big Trends in Computing are Shaping Science
- Moderator: Neil Thompson (Massachusetts Institute of Know-how)
- Panelists: Jayson Lynch (Massachusetts Institute of Know-how), Svenja Bergmann (ETH Zurich), and Gabriel Manso (Massachusetts Institute of Know-how)
